The Upper Dublin Chinese Association (UDCA) held its annual Thanksgiving celebration on November 26, 2022. After intensive preparations by the organizing committee, the gathering kicked off at 4:30 pm in the auditorium at Maple Glen Elementary School. The guests were entertained by many different performances as well as a wide-spread table of food. The event ended at 9pm, with everyone feeling happy and full.

There were more than 200 people who attended this event. The whole room was filled with joy. The participants included three special guests, Mr. Jun Ma, the principal of Guanghua Chinese School, Ms. Xianghong Zhang, the vice principal, and Mr. Yulin Fang, the president of the Shanghai Chinese Association. The in-person gathering spurred conversation and re-ignited friendships that were halted due to the pandemic. Before the official performance, Dr. Ling Liang, the president of UDCA, gave a speech for the event and reaffirmed the purpose of the association. Afterwards, the performance by the volunteers had officially begun. There were dances, songs, poetry chorus, saxophone, rhythmic gymnasts, and pianists. All of the performers were full of talent and charisma. The host team was led by Ling Zhang, a well known local event organizer. She had the assistance of Raymond Zhao, three elementary school students, Zhang Wanting, Zhao Xuerong and Shi Lixin. They received unanimous praise from everyone. During the performance, the committee also interspersed with the award ceremony. Two local high school students, Karen Zhou and Isabella Xie, won the UDCA 2022 Platinum Award; 12 students, ranging from elementary schools to high school, won the Volunteer certificates from the UDCA in recognition of their contributions to the community in the past year. In addition, the organizing committee also arranged for children's games and exciting lucky draws, and the final free group dance added much more laughter to the party. This event was very successful as it lasted until 9pm. The room was filled with chatter and celebration, and everyone was very grateful for the experience UDCA offered. This gathering received strong support from the nearby Chinese communities. UDCA would like to express its heartfelt appreciation to YD Homes, Lu Jing, Sharetea Fatty Panda and OOKA Restaurant for sponsoring and supporting our event.
